My MRI Experience

Here's the deal: I was paid $60 to watch an episode of The Simpsons, and press some buttons in an MRI machine. WOOO HOOO! I was so amped! Despite the fact that for part of the time I received some shocks to my wrist, it was awesome. Legit- the easiest $60 I've ever made. I've discovered that I like being in confined areas... I know its weird, but just go with it. I think I could make a career out of this. I'll look into it. Within the next few weeks I'm supposed to get another MRI for $150. BANK!

I hate midterms...

Midterms are made by the devil. They suck and they're stupid and I hate them. So screw midterms. Screw Comparative Politics. Screw professors with ridiculous accents. Sucks to studying for an entire weekend. Sucks to still being 300 pages behind on Con West readings. Sucks to my parents not being here on parents weekend. Sucks to your assmar. The End.

Love of Life

Tonight Liz, Meg and I went shopping on 6th Ave and ran into the love of my life... STACY FARBER!!! For those of you who don't know her, she played Ellie on Degrassi, a Canadian show on The N. Basically, I've idolized her for years! She was shopping at Urban Outfitters by herself. I didn't say anything to her because... well in all honesty, I probably would have peed my pants. But we did engage in some lingering, meaningful eye contact. Oh Stacy... JACKPOT!

Ode to Elkland

So I totally broke out the Elkland tonight while I was studying. Let me tell you, I was groovin'. They're catchy and upbeat enough to keep me going. But every so often, I can't help but get up and dance. My philosophy is that little study breaks are needed from time to time... and booty shaking study breaks are even better. It's a pity they broke up. Their live show was amazing!! I'm sure Molly, Melis and Em all remember the 80's style wind breaker! To be honest, the "D-I-S-C-O" is still where I want to go.

Crazy Candy Night!

What do poor college kids do on Saturday nights? Go to bars and flirt with guys to get free drinks, you say? Nay! They dick around in Duane Reade then buy entirely too much bulk candy! Sanishya from across the hall, my roomies and I all spent a hot year in that store. I never knew how much it had to offer... Halloween costumes, aisles and aisles of food, and even a picture center. It's the epicenter of all that is good in New York. After our exciting excursion to the DR, we came back to Rubin to play card games and eat until we were sick!! Did you know that DR (generic brand) gummy worms have faces? You learn something new everyday here at NYU. I don't think I've listened to Mmbob that many times in a row since fifth grade. Good times, yo. I've also come to the conclusion that candy is the universal friend maker. "Hey we've got a shit load of candy, do you want some?" "CHEYAAA!" I love randomness...

Back in Sylvania!

I had a 5 day weekend last week and I went back to the SYL to visit some of my favorites! It was such an amazing weekend. I went to HomeComing with Maxi. Despite the stares from girls with crushes on Max, the dance was actually a lot of fun. My dress- Forever 21, $27... HOLLA! On Sunday Max and I went with our friends Allie and Adam to MacQueens Apple Orchard for some good ole' Ohio fun! I have this theory that Apple Picking should be a sport... I'm looking into it. I was legit so much better than I thought I would be. I was snatching those apples from branches high and low. OH SNAP! It was tres divertido! Max and I used our plethera of apples to make apple crisp... Delicious. Delicious.

Framingham Visitors!!

Meg and Liz had friends visiting from Framingham this weekend, Catie (Meg's sister who looks just like her) and Erin. It was nice to meet some other people from Framingham... I finally have an explanation for all of the weirdness! Haha they're all awesome, you have to love them! On Friday we went to see the Steinhardt production of Urinetown The Musical... Basically the show is about this town where you have to pay to pee! It was amazingly funny! I've legit been listening to the soundtrack for two days straight, it's perfection. It's not a typical musical at all, it's dark, cynical and one of the main characters is a little girl. Oh so good :o)

Here's a little sample of the awesomeness:

Saturday we took them out to El Burrito Loco for some classic NYU fun! We ordered quite possibly the best guacamole in the world... Meg was kind of obsessed! Going home, we were all brave enough to walk through the park at night- it was actually not that sketchy, and quite beautiful. Cliche girls- we sang La Vie Boheme at the top of our lungs all the way back to the dorm! It was so much fun. Now that I've procrastinated for long enough, I have to study for my first college exam... EEEEP!
